It follows calls from the World Health Organization for China to provide more accurate data on Covid infections and deaths.
China has seen a sharp rise in cases after Beijing abandoned its zero-Covid policy.
The Chinese government is reporting about 5,000 cases a day, but analysts say such numbers are vastly undercounted - and the daily caseload may be closer to one million.
