Israel has confirmed its military is operating close to Al-Shifa, the biggest hospital in Gaza City.
Videos circulating on social media show what appears to be the aftermath of a missile or mortar striking the hospital courtyard.
The BBC has not been able to verify the incident and the Israeli military said it is looking into reports of a blast.
