It comes after Ukraine said it was ready to accept a 30-day ceasefire if Russia did the same.
The Kremlin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said that he did not rule out the possibility of a phone call between Russian President Putin and US President Trump, adding that it would be organised very quickly if needed.
