Russia used more than 500 drones and missiles in waves of airstrikes overnight, according to Ukrainian officials.
Most, but not all, were shot down by Ukraine’s air defence teams. There were reports of fires and damaged homes in Kyiv, and across the country.
Meanwhile Russian President Vladimir Putin joined Xi Jinping in China as its military unveiled new weapons at a huge parade, where Kim Jong Un told Putin it’s North Korea's "fraternal duty" to help Russia in its war in Ukraine.
