In earlier comments to the BBC's US media partner, CBS News, the president said that 'the war is very complete, pretty much', but claimed later that, though 'ahead of schedule' the war was not yet over.
Trump added that he wants to ensure Iran cannot develop nuclear weaponry "for a very long period of time".
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it has begun a new waves of strikes on the Iranian capital Tehran.
