as posted by the channelA cargo vessel in the strait of Hormuz has been struck by unknown projectile, according to the UK maritime authority. It said the environmental impact of the incident was unknown.
It came as Iran launched more attacks on the United Arab Emirates which reported that it had intercepted 15 missiles and drones on Monday.
However the US insisted that the 4-week long ceasefire with Iran was continuing. The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the objectives of "Operation Epic Fury” had been concluded and the offensive stage of the war with Iran was "over”.
The US defence secretary Pete Hegseth claimed that Project Freedom, the operation by the US Navy to ensure safe passage of commercial ships through the strait was proving a success. It was reported that two ships had safely passed through the strait on the second day of the US operation. More than 1,500 ships remain trapped in the Gulf.
Iran's top negotiator said "we know well that the continuation of the status quo is intolerable for America, while we are just getting started.”
