Deadly Russian attack on shopping mall - 15 dead and 130 injured in double drone strike | BBC News

At least 15 people have been killed in two Russian drone strikes on a shopping centre in the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih, according to local officials have said.

Another 130 people - including 23 children - were injured in the city's biggest mall.

The shopping mall is in President Volodymyr Zelensky’s home town. He called it "absolutely cynical and despicable”. Ukrainian authorities said a second drone struck the building, targeting emergency workers at the scene.

Dramatic footage verified by the BBC appears to show the second drone hitting the burning shopping centre in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Ukraine has in recent months carried out attacks on warehouses of Russia’s largest online retailer Wildberries.

Its latest strikes targeted an oil refinery and a military airfield deep inside Russia. Ukraine has been systematically targeting Russia’s energy supplies, leading to severe petrol shortages. Russia’s President Putin has admitted the attacks are damaging the country’s economy.
