Kate Garraway and Dr Guddi Singh meet patients with everyday medical conditions and take them through an immersive medical consultation using cutting edge technology.
This time, Kate meets Judith, a singer struggling with a thyroid nodule affecting her voice. Judith grew up performing and surrounded by music, so she decided to follow a career as a singer. However, whilst abroad working on her music, she noticed a lump in her neck. It was a nodule on her thyroid, a gland in the neck that produces important hormones. While thyroid nodules are common as you get older, most people won’t notice them. But Judith’s nodule has now grown so much it has started to not only impact her singing, but also her sleeping and breathing.
Judith is hoping a three dimensional look at the growth in our state-of-the-art hub will help her to understand why surgery is the best option and to come to terms with her condition.
