The cheese can reach speeds of up to 100km/h (70mph) and the first runner to catch it or cross the line at the bottom is crowned the winner.
And their prize? They get to keep the cheese...
The unusual event has been celebrated for centuries and is thought to have its roots in a pagan festival to mark the return of spring.
