In 1996 - he brought a case against Penguin Books and the American historian Deborah Lipstadt - accusing her of libelling him in her book. The case has now been made into a major film, Denial, which opens this week in the UK. Emily Maitlis spoke to its scriptwriter David Hare about parallels with now.
