Tens of thousands of civilians and fighters from former rebel strongholds including Aleppo, Homs and Darayya were evacuated there. But an attack in the far south of the province by government forces, backed by Russian planes, could suggest the regime has fresh aspirations to reclaim control. Mike Thomson reports.
