The New Yorker magazine took a stance today by rescinding an invitation to Steve Bannon, former campaign strategist to President Trump to speak at its festival.
This came after pressure from other panellists and celebrity voices - including the actor Jim Carey - who threatened to pull out.
Bannon has befriended populist far-right governments emerging across Europe, though that didn't stop the editor of the Economist tonight defending its decision to host Bannon at a similar event, despite protest.
So should we salute organisations for standing up to what they believe, or call them 'gutless' for trying to silence a debate that should be had?
