The director of the economic think tank the Institute for Fiscal Studies has said the government "still lots of work to do" to sort out the public finances, after Chancellor Rachel Reeves delivered her Spring Statement to the Commons.

Reeves said her economic plan was "even more important in a world that…has become more uncertain", in the wake of escalating tensions in the Middle East after the US and Israel attacks on Iran.

Speaking on the BBC's Politics Live, IFS director Helen Miller said there would be calls to spend even more on defence.
