“Global bond markets will veto any member of Burnham's cabinet, who he makes chancellor, who they don't like. It's going to have to be a more Blairite figure, if we are going to avoid an international bond market crisis," Liam Halligan, a Telegraph columnist, who’s known Burnham for 30 years, said.
“What we’ve seen over the last 14 years is there’s such a thing as false economies, bad cuts create more debt – and what we’ve ended up with is a population that’s less productive, that’s less healthy and also a lot less optimistic," Ash Sarkar, from Novara Media, responded.
Presenter Vicki Young was also joined by Labour MP Anna Dixon and Conservative MP David Reed.
