17:23Now PlayingThe Special Election for Colorado 4th Congressional District is on June 25th and Democrats have been overperforming across the country in almost every special election since Dobbs. Democratic nominee Trisha Calvarese is taking on Lauren Boebert’s hand-picked place holder and controversial Republican nominee Greg Lopez. She’s up for the fight and Fred gets her in the Hot Seat. Trisha was born in Colorado and raised in District 4, attended Douglas County Public Schools, before earning a full academic scholarship to Johns Hopkins. As speechwriting director at the AFL-CIO, Trisha was at the forefront of shaping messaging that led to the landmark bipartisan infrastructure law, the Inflation Reduction Act, and the bipartisan Chips and Science Act. As a card-carrying member of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) with the U.S. National Science Foundation, Trisha worked to reshore and revitalize American manufacturing and innovation. A family emergency changed everything. She returned to her hometown, Highlands Ranch, to provide end-of-life care for her parents. They both had cancer and passed away last fall, days apart. Trisha understands the economic and care challenges families face. Now, Trisha’s running to serve the community that raised her.
