14:47Now PlayingOn September 10th a 14-year old student killed two teachers and students at Appalachee High School in Mike Collins district. All he offered was the usual thoughts and prayers. He won his seat in Georgia’s 10th district two years ago with an ad featuring him shooting a supposed voting machine. He’s done nothing to improve lives there since. This year he has a millennial opponent who is giving him a run for his money. Lexy Doherty is a geologist, educator, and poll worker. She is running for Congress because she believes our government can be functional, productive, and forward-thinking. She is pushing hard to help all of GA-10 through rural economic development, environmental stewardship, protecting voting rights, and ensuring equal opportunities for all Georgians. She moved to Athens-Clarke County to attend the University of Georgia for graduate school. She studied economic geology and has long advocated for the sustainable energy movement. Lexy work’s as an educational consultant and support students in finding their path after high school. In addition, she works as an Assistant Precinct Manager to protect access to our most sacred right- our right to vote- and as a member of the Oconee Rivers Greenway Commission where I advocate for shared public green spaces to improve the health of our communities.
