Congressman Ami Bera of California’s 6th District centered on Sacramento County is a great example of a leader we need to stay in Congress. Dr. Bera is a six-term member of Congress. First elected in 2012, he unseated a GOP incumbent and flipped the seat. He serves as ranking member on the House Foreign Affairs Indo-Pacific Subcomittee and also sits on the House Intel Committee and COVID Select subcommittee. Before entering Congress, Bera earned his M.D. from University of California-Irvine and then worked in the Sacramento area as a doctor. Dr. Bera then served as Sacramento County’s chief medical officer. He is now seeking his seventh term in Congress.
