Cory Mills is supposed to represent Florida’s 7th Congressional District but really seems to have his hands full with other things. He was recently sued by his landlord in Washington D.C. for over $85,000 in back rent for his $20,000 a month penthouse apartment in the Wharf district. That apartment is the same place police were called to earlier this year over reports of domestic violence between Mills and a woman living there who isn’t his wife back in Florida. He's being investigated by the House Ethics Committee for other violations as well. He is seen as one of the most vulnerable Republicans this year for good reason. He’s got a strong opponent coming his way. Noah Widmann was raised by a single, disabled mother in Section-8 housing and was supported by food stamps, housing assistance, free school lunch, and dedicated teachers. After becoming one of the first in his family to graduate high school, Noah became a teenage dad. After his daughter Elizabeth was born, Noah went from working in fast food to serving his local community as an EMT with the fire department while attending community college. Noah then went on to graduate from Columbia University and Georgetown Law as a scholarship recipient for low-income, first-generation students. Now an attorney fighting to protect seniors’ Social Security and housing, he understands how vital these programs are to working families. That’s why Noah is running for Congress: to stand up to corrupt politicians like Cory Mills and build a fair economy that works for all of us, not just billionaires. Fred Wellman sits down with Noah to discuss his run against Mills and his increasing embarrassments.
