YouTube Description
as posted by the channelMeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas begins the days boycott of the State of the Union with Democratic Congresswoman LaMonica McIver.
Rep. LaMonica McIver is at the forefront of the fight for our democracy. She stepped up to protect people from ICE and now Trump, Pam Bondi, and their cabinet of cronies are doing everything they can to put the congresswoman in prison for 17 years.
She is facing felony charges for doing her job.
And in the face of Trump's efforts to intimidate her, silence her and shut down all dissent in this country, Rep. McIver is not folding. She is doubling down to protect her community, hold Trump officials' feet to the fire, and protect the democracy that makes our nation what it is.
As a newer member to Congress, she has immediately taken a spot as one of our nation's loudest voices for accountability against Trump's cruelty. She is the first member of Congress to be charged by the administration for doing her job, and she's bravely stepping up to make sure Trump can't get away with this.
Today, she joins us from Washington DC where she’s addressing the state of our union, and our democracy, on behalf of Democracy Defenders action and in partnership with Meidas touch.
