YouTube Description
as posted by the channelWhen the John Roberts Supreme Court cleared the way for racist gerrrymandering after the Callais vs. Louisiana decision, it essentially gutted the Voting Rights Act. Now, every southern state is racing to draw new maps that disenfranchise Black voters. On the heels of the Callais decision, Virginia's Supreme Court struck down the voter approved redistricting referendum in a 4-3 decision. The court majority claimed that the Virginia state legislature didn't follow the process correctly, and thereby nullified voters' voices. So now what? Is all hope of a blue wave in the November midterms disappearing? As the Jim Crow South appears to be having a revival, what does this mean for voting rights and chances of turning back fascism in November? Suri Crowe reports.
