Ponomareko says he doesn’t know why he killed the 5-year-old and that he was hearing voices. The brutal beating left the child with blunt force trauma to the head and face. Ponomareko pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to life in prison, but he will be eligible for parole in 49 years.
