Friends, on this Friday in Ordinary Time, I invite you to join me for Night Prayer.

Night Prayer is the final “hour” of the Liturgy of the Hours, the official prayer of the Church by which, in a structured way, the hours of the day are sanctified.

These prayers link you, in a powerful way, to the great tradition of the Church. Thomas Aquinas, Augustine, and Jesus himself knew and prayed these same Psalms.

As the Hours are traditionally prayed in community, I encourage you to engage actively with this prayer rather than observing it silently.

If you want the rhythm of these prayers to continue to inform your spiritual life, visit to check out Word on Fire’s monthly booklet containing Morning, Evening, and Night Prayer for each day.
