1:31Now PlayingAre you a coffee-chugging, freedom-loving American? Yeah? Well I’m about to lay down some scalding-hot truth about the most American way to make coffee: the pour-over.
I’m talking about a brewing method so pure, so righteous, it might as well come with its own bald eagle and a fanny pack full of fireworks.
Now, some folks might say, “But BRCC, the Chemex looks like some hipster shit invented by a German guy.” To which I say, shut your mouth, nerd. Because here’s the thing—like the Statue of Liberty and Taco Tuesday, sometimes the best parts of America come from somewhere else.
Here’s the thing: a Chemex is the muscle car of coffee makers. It’s got curves, it’s made of solid glass like a good bourbon tumbler, and it’s got that wooden collar that says, “Yeah, I’m sophisticated, but I could also fight a bear if I needed to.” It’s like some kind of moonshine still, which only adds to its American charm.
You don’t just push a button and walk away like some lazy, no-good, participation-trophy-receiving chump. No, you grind your beans fresh. You heat your water to an exact temperature specific to the roast. You pour and watch the grounds rise up like a little Mount Rushmore of aroma. It’s an act of patience, of discipline, of pride born of hard work—a few things this country used to be built on before social media came along and melted everyone’s attention span into a puddle of stupidity.
The result? A cup of coffee so clean, so crisp, it makes your taste buds stand at attention and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. No bitterness. No sludge. Just pure, unfiltered freedom in a mug.
So the next time some dork tries to tell you that espresso is the superior way to drink coffee, or some office drone brags about their Hipsterbucks order, you look ‘em dead in the eye, take a slow, patriotic sip from your mug of premium Black Rifle Coffee, and say, “Sorry, pal. I drink my coffee like an American—with patience, pride, and a little bit of elbow grease.”
God bless the pour over coffee brew method. And God bless America 🇺🇸
