On the grounds of the ancient Van Cortlandt Manor, not far from the setting of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, a group called the Historic Hudson Valley ignites an annual array of thousands of intricately carved pumpkins for the month of October and part of November.
Predictably, 130,000 people were expected to arrive from around the world to see the The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze this year.
Rob Schweizer, who is the director of marketing and publications for the Historic Hudson Valley, argues there is little it like in the world.”
“People really can’t believe it when they are here for the first time. No matter what they have heard from folks, no matter what theyve seen on online it something you reall have to see to believe,” Schweizer told TheBlaze. “Its an all senses experience”
This year, there are more than 7,000 pumpkins on display. That number does’t include those that must be replaced after facing destruction from fowl weather, or the natural order of decomposition.
