Toxic Tuesday: For health's sake, say “No!” to metal in your mouth!

Based on statistics from the American Dental Association, approximately 200 million dental fillings will be placed in the mouths of Americans this year, half of which will be metallic “silver fillings” (made up of 50% mercury and 50% a mixture of silver, tin, and copper). Additionally, millions of metal-based crowns, titanium alloy dental implants and orthodontic appliances will be added. It is common knowledge that electrical currents will flow when two or more metals are placed in an electrolyte solution (i.e. – saliva!). This is called a battery! Any person who has had mercury-amalgam “silver fillings” in their mouth and bit down on either a fork tine or a piece of aluminum foil knows all too well that dreaded “ZING!” that is generated. This energetic experience is real and all too common.

There are two types of electrical activity experienced with fillings. One is just like a regular battery, referred to as “bimetallic”. Bimetallic activity happens when two or more dissimilar metals are in an electrolyte solution (saliva) that conducts electricity. This bimetallic activity will produce a current or a flow of electrons. The other type of electrical activity is called “differential aeration”. This occurs between saliva and areas that contain different amounts of oxygen. This can be observed in the saliva covering a filling. Because there is less oxygen than the saliva on the top of unrestored enamel, this differential aeration thus produces a current.

If you want to experience optimal balanced energy throughout your life, then minimizing metals in your mouth is a must. Do you have to remove ALL metals to optimize health? The answer to this is different for each human, as our biochemical natures and energetic sensitivities are all unique.
