0:22Now PlayingEmergency crews cordoned off an area outside of London’s Shard building after a man climbed a crane on a nearby building site on October 2.
The climber was first spotted on Wednesday afternoon.
Crowds gathered at the foot of the Shard after the area was cordoned off by police.
The Metropolitan police said in a statement: "Police were called at 12:57 hours on Wednesday 2nd October to St Thomas Street, SE1.
“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service & London Fire Brigade and found that a male had climbed a crane at the location.
“The male currently remains at height and his intentions are unknown at this stage.
“Road closures are currently in place affecting local bus routes. Transport for London and the local authority have been informed.”
