A police robot has been deployed on the streets of the Tunisian capital to enforce the coronavirus lockdown in the country.
The “robocop” known as PGuard is controlled remotely and equipped with infrared and thermal imaging cameras as well as a sound and light alarm system.
Video released by the Tunisian Interior Ministry shows the robot patrolling the streets of Tunis, stopping people and asking them what they are doing.
According to The Guardian, the robot was created in 2015 by Enova Robotics to carry out security patrols and carries a price tag of between $100,000 – $140,000.
Since March 2, 455 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Tunisia, with reports of 14 deaths.
