The freshman congresswoman from Queens, New York tells The Associated Press that Biden is "struggling" with millenials and people of color and needs to describe how he'd preserve Medicare, for example, for people who won't need it for decades.
She spoke about two hours before Sanders endorsed Biden in a joint online appearance on Monday. Afterward, she declined further comment through a spokeswoman.
Ocasio-Cortez has not endorsed Biden, but she said she expects to do so eventually. And in the interview, she didn't rule out someday campaigning for the former vice president.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez also said that she's fine with progressive values taking a backseat during the 2020 race if that is what is needed for her party to win the White House.
