The demonstrations turned into clashes between protesters and security forces after dozens of young men smashed the fronts of local banks and set fire to an army vehicle.
The discourse blocked major roads leading from Beirut, preventing medical teams from leaving Beirut to conduct coronavirus tests around the country. The Health ministry said it would be trying again Tuesday.
