YouTube Description
as posted by the channelWhite House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany warned Tuesday "there are consequences" if the nation remains closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking at the White House press briefing, McEnany rattled off a series of data points revealing that screenings were down in March among Americans for certain cancers.
She then revealed that she carries the BRCA2 genetic mutation that puts her at high risk for breast cancer, so she underwent a double mastectomy. McEnany said when she went to the hospital for her regular screening, she didn't see many people in the halls.
"And that is quite frightening." McEnany said, citing another study that revealed more than 80,000-plus diagnoses of five common cancers and the United States are projected to be missed or delayed during the three month period of early March to early June.
Later in the briefing, McEnany doubled down on the administration's position that everyone in the U.S. does not need a COVID test, insisting "testing is not preventative."
