1:11Now PlayingWhite House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is defending President Donald Trump's plans to hold a rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma this weekend.
"We are taking every single safety precaution that we can," said McEnany. "While we appreciate the great concern for our rally goers, you should exhibit that same concern for the protesters who are out there who are not socially distancing in many cases and not wearing masks."
This comes as more people are testing positive for COVID-19 in several states. McEnany said the higher positive results are in large part due to more people getting tested.
"When you do more testing, you identify more cases," said McEnany.
"Countries that don't do as much testing don't identify the same number of cases. I mean, it's pretty logical exactly what he said."
The Trump campaign has asked supporters to sign a liability waiver agreeing that they won’t sue if they catch COVID-19.
McEnanay also talked about the Democrats push for a policing reform bill on Capitol Hill.
Senate Republicans released their 106-page legislation Wednesday, embracing a new priority with the “Justice Act,” the most ambitious GOP policing proposal in years, in a direct response to the massive public protests over the death of George Floyd and other black Americans.
The House Judiciary Committee is considering a much broader Democratic proposal before an expected House vote next week.
That bill would limit legal protections for police, ban chokeholds and attempt to reduce racial profiling. It would also boost requirements for police body cameras and limit the transfer of military equipment to local jurisdictions.
