Johnson said the U.K. has sent HMS Enterprise to survey the port in order to help repair damage, as well as a medical team.
On Wednesday, the U.K. Foreign and Commonwealth Office said it would make up to £5 million in emergency humanitarian funding available to people made homeless by the explosion.
"This is something that is going to take a long time to recover and I ensure that the UK will continue to focus on the needs of the people of Lebanon," he said.
