1:18Now PlayingA flash flood emergency continued along the coast of Alabama and Florida on Wednesday afternoon, September 16, as Tropical Storm Sally continued to bring storm surge and heavy rain to the region.
Hurricane Sally downed trees, flooded roads, and cut power for communities across the region after it made landfall as a Category 2 in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The hurricane weakened to a tropical storm by Wednesday afternoon, but officials warned it was still causing “catastrophic and life-threatening flooding over portions of the Florida panhandle and southern Alabama.”
The footage, showing storm damage in Shalimar, Florida, was captured by Major Eric Aden with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
