“A glimpse into the extreme fire behavior Fremont firefighters and members from Oakland, Hayward, and Alameda County fire departments were enduring at the [Glass Fire]. All are safe and doing well,” Fremont Firefighters wrote on Instagram.
Containment of the Glass Fire grew to 30 percent on Monday, October 5, as the blaze continued to scorch California’s Napa and Sonoma counties, fire officials said.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) said the Glass Fire had burned 65,580 acres as of Monday morning. Hundreds of homes have been destroyed by the inferno, according to Cal Fire.
