as posted by the channelNorth Carolina Senator Thom Tillis praised Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett for choosing to undergo the nomination process, despite the personal attacks he says she and her family have witnessed.
Barrett acknowledged that yesterday was difficult for her 11-year-old son, Liam.
"My son Liam got very upset yesterday during the questioning," Barrett said.
"He didn't stick it out to the end. I'm surprised he stuck it out as long as he did. But Liam got very upset at the questioning."
Barrett said that initially she considered declining the nomination because of her children, but she also realized, they were also the "reason to do it" adding, "because if we are to protect our institutions and protect the freedoms and protect the rule of law, ... if we want that for our children and our children's children, then we need to participate in that work."
