YouTube Description
as posted by the channel(AP)The governor of the Italian region of Campania on Friday announced a curfew for Halloween weekend, calling the holiday an "immense idiocy".
In a video message announcing the closure of schools for the next two weeks in the southern region which includes Naples, Vincenzo De Luca said "Halloween is this immense idiocy, this immense stupid American extravagance that we have imported into our country. That's it, Halloween is a monument to imbecility."
"Well, since we have to face reality and since I feel that people are already getting ready to have parties, that weekend of October from 10pm will be closed and it will be curfew, not even mobility will be allowed", the Campania governor said.
The government, which has emphasized the importance of keeping schools open, disapproved of the Campania closures.
De Luca said the region is the most densely populated in all of Italy, making it especially fragile, and called for stronger measures nationally saying, "half measures are not worth anything anymore."
