Obama attended a small community roundtable Wednesday where he encouraged young people to find the time to vote.
He said voting doesn't always make things "perfect, but it makes things better."
"Just by virtue of one single election, things don't become perfect. But you get yourself on a pattern and a habit of being better represented and getting better served by your government. And that's the message that we had to send young people."
Obama's next stop in the city will be a drive-in rally, where supporters will listen to him over the radio inside their cars.
The format underscores the challenge Democrats face in boosting enthusiasm and getting out the vote in a year when they’ve eschewed big rallies in favor of small, socially distanced events.
But Democrats say Obama remains one of the party’s greatest assets in the final stretch. Obama has already been helpful to the Biden campaign.
He's appeared at virtual fundraisers and encouraged young Americans to vote.
