2:19Now PlayingCalifornia Governor Gavin Newsom voted early on Thursday in Sacramento.
The Democratic governor praised the number of ballots that have been sent in thus far, saying he is "very enthusiastic about the total number of ballots that have been returned and about the eagerness for people to be active in participatory during this election season."
Newsom was voting at the Kings' Golden 1 Center, blocks from California's Capitol, where voters were able to register and vote as early as 11 days before the Nov. 3 election.
"I'm very proud of is the Sacramento Kings," Newsom said.
