1:18Now PlayingDemocratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said Wednesday he feels "confident" he will "emerge victorious" after all U.S. states finish their ballot counting, and he urged the nation to come together once the election is finally behind.
The Democratic presidential nominee appeared on stage in Wilmington, Delaware with his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris on Wednesday afternoon.
He promised, "I, we, are campaigning as a Democrat" but "I will govern as an American president."
Biden then used a common refrain from his campaign, saying, "There will be no red states and blue states when we win. Just the United States of America"
Ballots are still being counted in pivotal swing states, including Michigan and Pennsylvania.
President Donald Trump's reelection campaign says it is filing suit to stop counting both places, citing a lack of transparency.
Biden refused to declare victory during his Wednesday appearance, but said, "I'm confident we will emerge victorious" once all the ballots are counted.
Harris joined Biden on stage, but didn't speak. Biden also ignored shouted questions from reporters about the Trump campaign lawsuits.
