One week after the UK became the first Western country to authorise use of the vaccine, Hari Shukla will be one of those receiving the jab on Tuesday.
British regulators on Dec. 2 gave emergency authorization to the vaccine produced by US drugmaker Pfizer and Germany’s BioNTech.
The available 800,000 doses will first go to people over 80 who are either hospitalized or already have outpatient appointments scheduled, along with nursing home workers.
