3:00Now PlayingPresident-elect Joe Biden on Friday finished naming his Cabinet nominees with the announcement of his economic team, and he called on the Senate to confirm his picks "promptly and fairly," particularly those involved in national security.
"Given what our country has been through the last...few days, given the threats and the risks in this world, they should be confirmed as close to January 20th as possible," Biden said.
He called for no vacancies at the departments of State, Defense, Treasury and Homeland Security as he enters his presidency.
Biden hailed what he called the first Cabinet that "looks like America," wiht a majority of people of color occupying top positions.
Biden also offered his "deep sympathy" to the family of the Capitol Police officer who died in the line of duty during the Capitol riots on Wednesday.
The president-elect called the event and death "sickening" said those responsible will be "held accountable."
