1:42Now PlayingWhen TV anchor Behishta Arghand went to work on August 17, she didn't know she would have to face one of her biggest fears that day.
A Taliban official entered the newsroom and wanted to be interviewed live on the channel.
Arghand was scared, but she was the anchor working for the Afghan news channel ToloNews.
She decided to go through with the interview, claiming to be the first female Afghan journalist to interview the Taliban live on television.
Speaking to The Associated Press on Sunday, Arghand said she had been shaking during the live interview but wanted "to show all of the world Afghan women don't want to go back, they want forward."
The 22-year-old had only been working as a journalist for two-and-a-half years.
She had to flee to Qatar with her family because of her job and is now waiting for a visa to enter Canada or the United States.
Arghand hopes the Taliban keep their promise of education for all and asked that they allow women to work.
"If they do what they promise I think one day we will a very beautiful and good Afghanistan," she said, eyes brimming with tears.
Qatar is hosting around 1,000 Afghan evacuees in compounds that were built to host fans for the World Cup in 2022.
The country helped a total of 43,000 evacuees from Afghanistan since the start of the evacuations, and currently has around 20,000 still in the country.
