1:38Now PlayingGermany's Green Party co-leader Robert Habeck on Monday called for "something new" in the country as the environmentalist party finished third in the parliamentary election.
The Greens made significant gains in the election to finish third but fell far short of their original aim of taking the chancellery.
The conservative party gained just 24.1% of the vote behind the social democrats at 25.7%.
