1:19Now PlayingThe President of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández, pledged Tuesday to rebuild an island community destroyed by fire at the weekend.
The blaze ripped through Bonacca Cay off the resort island of Guanaja, destroying nearly half the area and leaving hundreds of people homeless.
No one was reported dead but a number of people were injured.
Hernández visited the scene and described it as "devastating".
He promised that the homes destroyed by the blaze would be rebuilt.
Authorities believe the fire was caused by a candle flame.
"An open flame was the source of this catastrophic fire," said Manuel Zelaya, the commander of Honduras' fire department.
