1:51Now PlayingPolice raided a house in the Argentine city of Jose C Paz just outside the capital searching for a batch of adulterated cocaine that killed 20 people and seriously sickened another 74 Wednesday.
The provincial security ministry released cell phone video images of police searching a home, showing evidence of drug trafficking.
Packets of what allegedly is cocaine inside plastic bags was located at the scene, along with cell phones used in the drug distribution operation as well as thousands of pesos in cash.
Experts were still analyzing the drug to determine what was in it that caused the deaths. Judicial officials said one hypothesis being considered was that the cocaine was intentionally adulterated as part of a settling of scores between traffickers.
Police said that the cocaine was sold in the poor neighborhood "Puerta 8" in San Martín — a suburb to the north of Argentina's capital — and that a dozen people had been arrested.
Authorities urged anyone who might have bought the deadly drug not to use it.
