1:06Now PlayingUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy took a swipe at Russia's media watchdog on Sunday after it tried to stop the publication of his interview with independent Russian journalists.
The interview was conducted by journalists from the Meduza news website, the Dozhd television station, and the liberal business paper Kommersant. Both Meduza and Dozhd have been blocked by the Russian government.
Media watchdog Roskomnadzor urged Russian media not to publish the interview and launched an investigation into the circumstances under which it had been organised.
In an address to the nation, Zelenskiy dismissed Roskomnadzor's demand, accusing it of "trying to destroy" freedom of speech not just in Russia, but Ukraine too.
Russia "portray themselves as global players and... are afraid of a relatively short conversation with several journalists," he quipped. The president went on to say that another round of negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow was imminent, this time likely in Turkey.
The office of Turkey's president on Sunday said he and Russian leader Vladimir Putin had agreed the next meeting should be held in Istanbul. The statement did not give a specific time frame for the talks.
