0:53Now PlayingResidents in Shanghai's Pudong New Area, now under lockdown due to the surging number of local Covid-19 cases, are taking nucleic acid tests. China's largest city is using many new technologies to make the progress more efficient.
In the residential area of Huamu Road in Pudong district, the nucleic acid detection point is set in the tennis court in the community. Two volunteers check the residents' nucleic acid test with the information system of the community.
People can simply put the ID card on the card reader, or take a picture of the ID card with mobile phone. Then this program can automatically generate a two-dimensional code for nucleic acid detection.
All residents in the Pudong District, home to many elite financial institutions and the Shanghai Stock Exchange, will be confined to their homes and allowed out only to get a Covid test, according to a statement issued by the area’s residential compounds reviewed by Bloomberg News.
