Zelenskyy handed out Hero of Ukraine medals to the servicemen and to relatives of the those killed in action.
"Russia hoped that we wouldn't withstand even 5 days, but thanks to the heroes present here today, thanks to the heroes among us, and thanks to our unity and the desire to live freely - we keep fighting," he said during a speech following the awards ceremony.
He added that Ukraine will fight the occupiers until "we free our land and people."
