0:43Now PlayingHollywood star Angelina Jolie made a surprise visit to the Lviv region in Ukraine on Saturday.
She visited a medical institution and talked to staff and local officials about the impact of the conflict on their lives.
She also met children caught up in the Russian missile strike on the railway station near Kramatorsk, according to the head of Lviv regional state administration.
At one point, Jolie played with a young girl, with the child teasing the famous visitor with a roll of sweets.
At least 52 people were killed and dozens wounded when the station was hit on 8 April.
Jolie was a Goodwill Ambassador for the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) from 2001 until 2012, when she was made a Special Envoy.
However, it is believed she traveled to Ukraine in a private capacity.
