Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the 18-year-old suspect, a resident of Uvalde, was dead. “It’s believed that responding officers killed him,” he added.
President Joe Biden addressed the nation on Tuesday evening, saying it was time to stand up to the gun lobby.
Houston Public Media reporter Lucio Vasquez said he filmed this footage Tuesday from the George Thomas Mickey Leland Federal Building as Texas reeled from the devastating shooting.
